The proposed new “Club Bargara” is designed to provide an extended range of hospitality and entertainment facilities for members and their guests. To be constructed over two levels, it will include lounge, dining and function facilities all enjoying panoramic views of the ocean.
Above the club itself, four levels of short-stay accommodation will include 50 short-stay apartments providing 100 hotel-style suites, and six large top floor apartments. Together these facilities will provide a new generation of short-stay accommodation for Bargara, critical to the expansion of the region’s tourism market.

The accommodation complex – “Club Bargara Resort” – will feature its own Wellness Centre and a spacious Recreation Deck on level three, with a stunning glass-ended pool overlooking the Bargara Golf Course, opposite.
The Club design includes a dramatic double-height, undercover deck on the Esplanade corner of the site and a suspended mezzanine above the lounge and dining area, providing flexible function spaces for up to 400 guests.
A beachside al fresco café and a trio of small kiosks will be set in landscaped grounds on the Esplanade frontage, creating a family-friendly interface with the community.

Planning for the project has been managed and directed by Club Property Solutions (CPS), a development and advisory company specialising in designing property use strategies for community clubs.
The proposed Bargara Golf Club centenary development projects have been developed by CPS over several years in close consultation with the Club and Council, and employing a range of high-calibre national consultants.
Of particular note has been the appointment by CPS of West Australian-based, Pendoley Environmental, recognized Australian experts in marine conservation and global leaders in the monitoring of marine turtles in industrial environments. Pendoley principal, Dr Kellie Pendoley has overseen the provision of advice and guidance on both projects, including recommending lighting strategies to ensure the projects meet all standards necessary to ensure they will have no adverse impact on sea turtles.
‘‘By linking a number of elements we’ve essentially created a unique “Golf Course Resort” that we believe will have massive appeal and attraction for visitors from throughout Australia.”
CPS Director, David Wing

On-site parking will be provided for 160 cars in one basement and two upper levels, with a reserved area for club members’ buggy parking adjacent to the existing underpass that connects the site to the golf course.
With its fabulous ocean front location, unique integrated club and function facilities and its magnificent golf course, the new Club Bargara complex is set to change the shape of Bargara, providing a host of great new facilities for club members, visitors and the local community.
“The Bundaberg region has experienced an incredible uplift of visitors since July 2020, well above our already ambitious goals prior to COVID, and our regional visitation continues to grow, driven by our hero experiences of the Great Barrier Reef, our marine life encounters and our rich culinary scene.
“Club Bargara Resort will be a key part of the evolution of our accommodation stock so that our region has the capacity to meet future traveller demand, and we look forward to seeing this project come to life.”
Bundaberg Tourism CEO Katherine Reid
Bargara Beach, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef
Bargara is now well and truly ‘on the map’ with accommodation operators as a very desirable getaway destination.
Home to approximately 10,000 lucky residents, the coastal township of Bargara is located 13km east of Bundaberg (population approximately 100,000) at the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. The Queensland state capital, Brisbane, is 480 km to the south (4.5 hours by road or 55 minutes by air).
With its stunning elevated ocean foreshores, golden beaches, nearby coral cays, a dramatic, rugged coastline decorated with palm trees and pandanus, and iconic tropical vistas over the golf course and inland cane fields, Bargara has managed to maintain a unique coastal village atmosphere while being only 15 minutes from a major city.
Bargara Beach’s pristine offshore ocean waters are a playground for migrating whales and dolphins while the beach at nearby Mon Repos supports the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on Australia’s east coast.
Bargara’s climate (virtually identical to that of Hawaii) combined with its unique relaxed coastal atmosphere and natural beauty, provide an unrivalled lifestyle for both residents and visitors. A family-friendly destination, it offers a range of iconic Australian recreational activities for locals and visitors alike, including swimming, surfing, boating, fishing, snorkeling and diving, walking, playing golf and just watching brilliant sunsets.
